Al-Jazeera Syriacs: Turkish massacres in North Syria are continuation of Sifo massacre

With the coming of the 103rd anniversary of Sifo massacre committed by Ottoman occupation against the "Armenians, Assyrians, Syrians and Circassians peoples " in 1915 in Turkey and hundreds of thousands of civilians' lives have been taken. Hawar news agency met a number of members of Syriac component in Tirbê Sipî of Qamishlo canton.

"This conspiracy against Armenians, Assyrians, Syriacs and Circassians came with the approval of international countries such as Germany, giving Turkey the national character of a sectarian nature," said Rabi Moro" Armenian citizen

"Today, we see these massacres being repeated by the descendants of Ottoman state in North Syria in an attempt to occupy them," Moro said, adding that the massacre had come after an international silence similar to the silence which accompanied with Afrin massacres where hundreds of thousands of Christians have gone in the area.

And the citizen Thaer Ishak, noted that Ottoman occupation committed Sifo massacre, depending on its policy, which depends on the genocide of peoples, to impose its occupation control on the area.

He pointed out that what happened a century ago is repeated today in Şengal and North Syria through the use of Turkish occupation of its mercenaries to impose its occupational policies on the peoples of the area.

"Turks have always been using religion to pass their dirty policies, this is what they did in Sifo in 1915, amid regional and global silence, they repeated this in the modern age by sending IS mercenaries to eliminate Yazidi in Şengal," he said.

Yosef called on, the components of North Syria to close ranks against Turkish policies, which are not different from the Ottomans approach in striking the components of area using all the methods.

"Turkey is not only targeting Kurdish people and Christians, but is trying to destroy our country, Syria," he said.

"If Armenians adopt the Christian religion, Kurds and Arabs embrace the Islamic religion, this confirms that Turkey is trying to eradicate all ethnic minorities," said Suad Lamki Malko, who said that Turkish occupation uses religion as a means of its policies to exterminate the people of the area.
