7 members elected for intellectuals Union’s administrative body in Manbij

Within the constituent meeting which was held on Saturday, the participants stressed on the need for intellectuals to play their pioneering role in the construction and development of an educated and conscious generation.

The draft of rules of procedure of Intellectuals’ Union which consists of 15 articles was read, and these are; the name, the logo, the identification of the Union, its objectives, membership, conditions of membership and duties of the member, the governing body and its functions".

After reading the draft, the meeting’s divan opened the discussion on the articles on a case-by-case basis. After the discussion and addition of the amendments, the rules of procedure were voted on and adopted as a system of the Intellectuals’ Union.

That was followed by reading the plan of the work of the intellectuals’ Union including:

- Attracting the intellectuals in Manbij city and organizeing their efforts through the Union.

- Preparing the ground for the creation of a cultural publication or magazine published in the name of the intellectuals’ Union in Manbij.

- Intensifying cultural work through intensifying seminars and cultural meetings.

- Holding annual exhibitions (book fairs, folklore, plastic arts, etc).

- Providing assistance and full support to educated youths.

- Printing the intellectual products of the members of the union according to the available possibilities.

- Working on documentary films-making.

Then, the meeting’s divan opened the door of candidature for the intellectuals to candidate for the Administrative Body under the supervision of the Forming Unions Committee and a member of the Social Justice Council in Manbij, and 18 intellectuals nominated themselves among 8 female candidates.
