The People's Municipality launched a project to maintain the sanitation in al-Tabqa, in response to the demands of the people and put them within the work plan for the current year.

The project, which started two months ago, included the rehabilitation of several main lines such as Fayez Mansour Street, the link to the city's wide street on Palestine Street.

The sewage network in al-Tabqa was severely damaged after several mercenary gangs took control of the city to dig tunnels in areas where sanitation was going, damaging many lines.

The maintenance work in the first stage included the maintenance of the sewerage system in al-Khadra market in the south of the Central Market, in addition to the networks of al-Jahiz neighborhood in the northeastern corner of the city and some points in the second and third neighborhoods.

Al-Tabqa people say that the Syrian regime over 4 decades of its presence in the region neglected sanitation, which caused many networks to get out of service due to oldness.

The municipality is currently studying another project, as part of the second stage of the sanitation reform in al-Tabqa city will be announced as soon as the completion of the study.

The second phase is likely to confine to the northern district of the city.
