Russia vetoed a US Security Council resolution on the alleged chemical attack in the Syrian city Douma.

Russia's envoy to the Security Council, Vasily Nibenzia, said today that Moscow urges America to return to its senses, pointing out that Russia opposed the US draft resolution to maintain international peace and security.
In the meantime, the US Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Nikki Haley said during the meeting that the draft resolution, submitted by Russia on the investigation into Douma gives Moscow an opportunity to choose investigators, which will make the mechanism of inquiry is not independent.
