Russian Defense: Israeli fighters targeted T4- airport

The statement of Russian Defense Ministry said, "Two Israeli aircrafts of F-15 type launched from the Lebanese territories without entering the Syrian airspace, and fired 8 missiles at the airport, and the air defense units of the Syrian forces managed to intercept 5 guided missiles."

The ministry confirmed that three missiles reached the western part of the airport, and did not cause casualties among the Russian advisers.

The Israeli embassy in Russia refused to comment on the Russian Defense’s information about the bombing of T4- airport in Syria.

Syrian regime’s military sources said that the air T4- base that is located near Homs was attacked by missiles on Monday’s dawn, and they were likely to be American missiles while the Pentagon denied the execution of any air strikes in Syria.

While the Syrian television said that the sound of explosions heard in the vicinity of T4- airport in the countryside of Homs, and the airport was targeted by several missiles likely to be American.

The Pentagon, for its part, denied carrying out air strikes in Syria and said in a statement, "Currently, the Ministry of Defense is not carrying out air strikes in Syria."

The western countries and the United States have accused the Syrian regime of targeting the Douma city with chemical gazes, and US president Donald Trump has promised al-Assad of paying heavy price.
