Irrigation committee in al-Raqqa reactivated al-Rafe’ pump

After a five-month work, the Irrigation Committee in al-Raqqa completed the rehabilitation of al-Rafe’ pump in al-Adnaniya area, and it operated the pump during an opening ceremony.

The Irrigation Committee of al-Raqqa Civil Council opened al-Rafe’ pump in al-Adnaniya area which irrigates 10,000 hectares in the northwest countryside.

Dozens of farmers from the northern countryside, as well as members of the communes and councils in the northern countryside, and members of al-Raqqa Civil Council attended the opening ceremony.

The opening began with holding a minute of silence followed by delivering a number of speeches which thanked the efforts of the Irrigation Committee which worked without interruption until it managed to reactivate the pump before the summer seasons would come.

It is noteworthy that the al-Rafe’ pump has great importance because it irrigates about 10,000 hectares of agricultural lands which is the source of livelihood for all residents of the northern and western countryside.
