Jamil Bayik: Afrin occupied, Ocelan’s isolation intensified

The Co-chairman of the Executive Body of the Kurdistan Communities Union, Jamil Bayik, said in an interview with the Firat news agency that a delegation visited the Imrali prison after the occupation of Afrin and after the meetings, the isolation imposed on Ocalan was tightened and Bayik reported on the meeting in Imrali.

Jamil Bayik strongly criticized the statement by the Committee against Torture (CPT) about the status of Ocalan and explained that this institution has become a partner to the policy of isolation pursued by Turkey. Bayik pointed out that there is an attack on Ocalan's ideas, which sent the spirit in Kurdistan and the Middle East, explaining that the struggle for the freedom, security and health of Ocalan is intertwined with the fight against fascism.

The talk of the joint president of the executive body of the Kurdish community system Jamil Bayik focused on the following points:

"The pressure intensified after Ocalan's rejection"

 “We received some news after the statement of the Committee against Torture, and we had ideas about the statement of the Committee against Torture, which was issued after two years of silence, and we were skeptical if this statement was to cover the pressure and torture practiced in the Imrali detention center. According to the information we obtained, during the Afrin resistance march, the Commission visited Imrali and the leader Apo came under pressure. After Apo refused dictations, the pressure and isolation imposed on him were tightened. The practices that the leader Apo was subjected to were related to the subject of Afrin and Rojava, and here the leader Apo showed a clear position rejecting the dictations, and in return for the position of Ocalan authorities removed the television and radio from the prison thus narrowing the possibilities that were available before.”

“We received this information after the occupation of the Afrin center, and even Mr. Qarayilan made his statements during the last few days, so we had doubts after this information and after the statement of the Committee against Torture. Therefore, Mr. Qarayilan called on the Committee against Torture to fulfill its responsibilities and to alert Turkish officials to their practices.”

“The information we received was not extensive, as information reached one of our groups that during the Afrin resistance, leader Apo was subjected to pressure to act and when he refused to be dictated on, the authorities removed the radio and television from prison and reduced the needs of life.”

"For us, our leadership represents the most sensitive subject"

“When it comes to our leadership, all the information leads us to worry and deal with it seriously, especially the statement issued by the Committee against Torture after two years of silence and the information we have obtained, in which Mr. Qarayilan made statements. When he made his remarks, he called on the Committee against Torture to assume its responsibilities and carry out its duties. A lot of things have changed over the past two years. Pressure and torture have escalated in Turkey, so the information that was presented two years ago is of no use today. Can we assess Imrali's current situation according to the information provided two years ago? Everything changes during this phase of Turkey. Therefore, the arrests and detentions of the Turkish society and the Fascist alliance between the AKP and the MHP cannot be accepted. This coalition is hostile to the Kurds wherever they are, and the statements of the CPT against our leadership cannot be accepted.”

“Except for his meeting with his brother Mohammed Ocalan in 2016, since April 2015 we have no information about our leader, we do not have clear and confirmed information about his situation, every now and then, however, we get information similar to the information we have recently obtained. They meet with our leader and want to fill him with some requests, but our leader makes it clear that he did everything necessary and there is nothing he can do anymore.”

"After two years of silence, the statement of the Committee against Torture pushes us to worry"

“This issue is linked to 40 million people, and not only our movement, this subject is linked to all the democratic forces in Turkey, and all the peoples of the Middle East. In this context, after two years of silence, the statement of the Committee against Torture makes us anxious and does not provide any answers to the questions raised. This statement, which was issued at the height of the pressure and in favor of the policy of torture practiced in Turkey and the occupation of Afrin, expresses irresponsibility.”

"The Committee against Torture must fulfill its responsibilities"

“Especially after the information we obtained after the occupation of the city of Afrin and during the constant strong resistance in Afrin, it turned out that the strength and the determination of leader Apo was the reason for the tightening of isolation and pressure on him. In the normal case, the Committee Against Torture (CPT) must meet its responsibilities and conduct meetings in Imrali. If there is a breach of the conditions of detention or if the conditions are contrary to European rules of procedure, the Committee must act quickly to rectify the situation.”

"The birth of leader Apo is the birth of the peoples of the Middle East"

The ideas and philosophy of leader Apo have become the road to victory for the other peoples of the Middle East and progressive humanitarian movements, not just for the Kurdish people. There is great resistance to spreading the ideas and philosophy of leader Apo.”

"What is going on is the anti-ideology of our leadership"

“The power of the ideas and philosophy of the leader Apo prompts them to impose this severe isolation on him, so his ideas and philosophy became the target of the conspiracy of dominant forces. Leader Apo put forward his intellectual model based on democratic modernity that supports society in the face of the capitalist system of modernity that leads society to fragility and eliminates pluralism, because our leadership has always opposed the system of imperialist forces that impose Arab, Persian and Turkish nationalism on everyone. The extreme isolation of our leadership is linked to this position, and therefore they are attacking the areas in which entities were founded on the basis of the democratic regime that was introduced by leader Apo, and that is why they attacked Afrin. The aggression against Afrin is an aggression against the Kurdish people and an aggression on the approach of leader Apo, which was built there.”

"Ocalan's ideas were welcomed and approved by all"

“Despite all the obstacles, Apo's ideas were welcomed and approved by all the Kurds, so one of the aims of the plot was to separate the leader Apo from the people. Today we see that his ideas ffect all parts of Kurdistan and the Kurdish people will live their free future through his ideas, because the Kurdish people play a leading role for the peoples of the Middle East through the ideas and philosophy of leader Apo, and victory in the Middle East possible through freedom and democracy, all the peoples of the region towards freedom and democracy.”

"The authoritarian forces fear the spread of the ideas of leader Apo"

“There are no people in the Middle East who say that the ideas of leader Apo are wrong, so they say that he is not only the leader of the Kurdish people, but our leader, so they show their support for leader Apo. Therefore, the despotic forces and the fascist alliance between the AKP and the MHP are hostile to the Kurdish people and leader Apo, and they want to end the ideas of Apo and everyone who follows his path.”

"The fascist alliance between the Justice and Development Party and the National Movement Party opposes anyone who protects the ideas of Ocalan."

“Erdogan’s fascism and authority talk about the People's Protection Units and the Democratic Union Party in Rojava, there is no PKK presence in Rojava, so Turkey is afraid of the ideas of our leader there. The fascist alliance between the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement (MHP) opposes anyone who protects and propagates the ideas of Ocalan. It is not only the Kurds who espouse the ideas of leader Apo, but also the Arabs and Syriacs. The fascist alliance between the AKP and the MHP is also hostile to them, and they will also oppose the Council of Raqqa if they adopt the ideas of Ocalan and build a new life on them. They are not from the PKK; will they go to eliminate them too? In Şengal, too, the espionage and protection of Apo's ideas was a crime in their eyes. Those who see the truth in the thoughts of Ocalan and want to build a democratic life on their basis are thus perceived as dangerous and want to eliminate them. The hostility of the fascist alliance between the AKP and the MHM is reduced to standing up to the spread of the ideas and philosophy of leader Apo. Why are they talking about Şengal today? They say that the Yezidis are drawn from the ideas of the pagan movement. "Do not think like this, do not organize under a democratic system, do not adopt a democratic federal system and do not adopt women's freedom, do not build a system based on equality and peace, because I will count you as its enemies." "All advocates of democracy should stand by the resistance shown by the Kurds"

“Certainly, the ideas of leader Apo will lead the people of the Middle East towards democracy, and society will be liberated on the basis of women's freedom. If democracy claimers stood by democracy, they must support the struggle of the Kurdish people; the struggle of the Kurdish people is not only for the liberation and democratization of the Kurds.”

 “The Turkish state is severely isolating our leader, and the Council of Europe and the Committee against Torture play the role of partner in this crime. They overlook the harsh isolation imposed on leader Apo, and thus his meetings with his family and his lawyer are hampered. So they want to break the way to the spread of the ideas of our leader, this isolation is not only targeted at a person, but the isolation imposed on the entire people, and isolation imposed on all humanity.”

"Only the struggle can free the leader Abo and the people"

“Only the escalation of the struggle can guarantee the health, safety and freedom of the leader Apo, so we see commitment to his approach. If we do not develop the struggle for the liberation of the Kurdish people and we have not fought against the policies of occupation and extermination carried out by the fascist alliance between the AKP and the MHP against the Kurdish people, we will not be able to obtain positive information about the freedom, safety and health of leader Apo who is linked to the struggle of the Kurdish people against fascism. Therefore, if the struggle of supporting Apo and the struggle of the Kurdish people is not unified, there will be no real commitment to Apo's ideas. On this basis, all women, youth, women and all segments of the Kurdish society and their friends and democratic forces must work hard to step up the struggle to liberate the Kurdish people.”

"Escalating the Guerilla struggle means supporting Apo"

“The Guerilla knows its position within this struggle. Because the Turkish state removed all the tools of the democratic struggle from existence, and even those who talk about the democratic struggle are imprisoned and silenced. On this basis, everyone must support the struggle of the Kerala. A strong aid must be provided. Everyone must give great help to the liberation struggle and they must participate strongly in the struggle of the Guerilla. Demonstrating support for Apo is linked to the strengthening of the Guerilla struggle. "We will strengthen the struggle on the approach of our leadership"

“In the memory of the birth of leader Apo, the leader must be better understood, everyone must understand the leader Apo and build his ideas. It would not be helpful to stick to the leader's ideas without understanding him. The year 2018 will therefore be a year of consolidation of the struggle on the approach of leader Apo. Let the occupiers and the aggressors attack as they wish according to their will, because we will strengthen the struggle on the leader's side and will fight for the health, safety and freedom of leader Apo. We will turn the leader's ideas into reality. This is how our approach and our view of the leader during 2018. Here we are not talking about emotional commitment only, there is no room for emotional commitment is not allowed to connect with leader Apo through speech only, and cannot ensure the health, safety and freedom of leader Apo through a few events, so we will rely on strengthening the struggle, freedom of the Kurdish people against fascism and the struggle for the liberation, security and safety of leader Apo in parallel.”
