NEWS DESK - The Syrian regime is mobilizing its forces in the vicinity of Duma city in preparation for launching a military operation against mercenaries Army of Islam if they did not agree to leave the city.
Al-Watan newspaper reported that the forces of the regime increased their mobilization in the vicinity of Duma to put pressure on mercenaries «Army of Islam» in order to accept a settlement agreement, similar to what happened in the neighboring cities and towns in the eastern al-Ghouta.
"All the forces operating in the eastern al-Ghouta are preparing to launch a massive military operation in Duma unless the terrorists of the Army of Islam agree to hand over the city and leave it," the newspaper quoted a military source as saying.
The military sources considered that this development "apparently comes after the failure of the negotiations, which was under Russian auspices with the" Army of Islam "to hand over Duma, and the conclusion of an agreement similar to the agreements held with the other armed militias in the rest of the eastern towns of al-Ghouta.
Convoys carrying mercenary groups and civilians in other parts of the eastern al-Ghouta leave for the northern regions of Syria in agreement with Russia.
In this context, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday that 128 thousand people have left the eastern al-Gauta since 28 February last.
