Turkish intelligence arrests young Kurds

KOBANI - In the so-called "Euphrates Shield" areas, Turkish intelligence practices the policies of arresting Kurdish youth "over identity," says Kawa Mohammed, a Kurdish young man who wanted to return from Turkey to his town of Kobani through those areas, so the Turkish intelligence arrested him.

In general, the Syrian refugees in Turkey suffer from this problem, since the entire way of return has been blocked, as there are no open crossings from the Turkish side with the Euphrates and al-Jazeera regions (the area between the Dejla and the Euphrates), and not with Afrin before they were brutally occupied.

On the border with the areas of Euphrates shield (Jaraablus, al-Raei, Azaz and al-Bab) which are occupied by Turkey in the northern countryside of Aleppo, sometimes open crossings allowing refugees to return, especially during the holidays, but at that time the Kurds were targeted.

Kawa Mohammed, a young Kurd from Kobani city, who is returning from Bab al-Salama crossing in Azaz, says that Turkish intelligence and mercenary groups arrested him and two of his colleagues because they are Kurd and did not speak Arabic very well.

The way back is risky!

The issue of returning to Syria from Turkey via the Euphrates shield is an obsession for thousands of Syrians and Kurds at the forefront. No one can guarantee whether they will cross these areas into their areas without being arrested, killed or looted.

Kawa left Kobani for Turkey in 2013 to find work to support the family. After years of working in various Turkish regions, he decided to return to his safe and secure country.

Like other young people and other Syrian Kurdish families, Kawa found it very difficult to find a way back because Turkey closed all the crossings to Syrian refugees who had almost become trapped inside Turkish border.

Because only the crossing from the occupied territories was resolved, on 13 August last year, Kawa intended to cross Bab al-Salama crossing and enter Syrian territory.

But the mercenary groups arrested him and handed him over to the Turkish intelligence "on identity" because he is Kurdish and two of his colleagues had weak Arabic language caused their arrest.

The charge ... wants to join the "terrorists"!

Turkish authorities see every Kurd as a terrorist, so Kawa also considered a terrorist.

"I was arrested as soon as I entered Syrian territory by the so called "Free Army because I was a Kurd and my identity clarified this because I was from Kobani. Then they took us to prison where I was interrogated," he said.

"During the investigation, they told me that you wanted to go to join People Protection Units. I rejected it and said that it was not true, but they insisted on it. Turkish intelligence was manipulating our nerves. They were confusing our ideas. After the investigation we were tortured if we spoke Kurdish.

Kawa says that more than 30 Kurdish youths were detained with him in the intelligence section and is known locally as the "al-Masara (the mill) near Bab al-Salam

He points out that the charge against everyone is the pretext of joining People Protection Units and PKK. "Many of the arrested youths were sentenced to only one year in jail because they were from Afrin. They were searching in our Mobiles   for pictures, and if they did not find what they wanted, they say you want to join terrorists ".

The exchange of money was part of the arrest reason

"The groups of the Euphrates Shield initially wanted to release me for money, but it decided not to do so and kept me and then asked for money in exchange for my release," Kawa told our correspondent.

Kawa Muhammad family paid 500,000 SP in exchange for allowing Kawa to get out of prison, although he did not commit any crime or guilt.

The release of Kawa was not his salvation, since mercenaries were forced him to remain in the areas they occupied in Azaz, and otherwise would be re-imprisoned for an additional year.

But Kawa was able to make a false identity out of the areas occupied by Turkey and mercenaries in the countryside of northern Aleppo and return to Kobani where his family.

Prison was the scene of liquidation operations!

Kawa revealed that the "Maasara" prison in the village of Sjo, run by Turkish intelligence, was the scene of genocide operations.

He points out that the effects are still clear, and the ropes of executions are still hanging in the surrounding trees.

According to what he saw and heard from the surrounding area, Kawa said that the prison was a center used by mercenary groups under the so-called "Euphrates Shield" to kill civilians who had been robbed, robbing their money and cars and killing them in the center. In other places or are hidden forever.

Because he "survived," as Kawa family and his acquaintances say, Kawa's parents are meant to salute him after he managed to get out of prison.
