1,200 Syrian refugees forcibly deported from Turkey to occupied Girê Spi during September

Last September, the Turkish authorities forcibly deported 1,200 Syrian refugees from its territory to the city of Girê Spi, which it occupies from Syria, as part of exploiting the refugee file to change the demographics of the occupied Syrian regions, by settling them in place of the displaced residents of the city.

A local source from the occupied city of Girê Spi reported that the Turkish authorities deported 1,200 Syrian refugees last September from its lands to the occupied city of Girê Spi, through the Girê Spi border gate, and handed them over to its mercenaries, the “military police,” in preparation for their resettlement in the homes of forcibly displaced people.

With the arrival of this number in the city of Girê Spi, the number of people who were forcibly deported and were resettled instead of the displaced residents of the city, which ANHA agency documented since the announcement of Turkish officials at the beginning of April 2022, which included the deportation of one million Syrian refugees from Turkey to Syria, 39,700, including 72 Iraqis.

Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the Turkish authorities have been exploiting the Syrian refugee issue to put pressure on international powers, to gain money on the one hand, and to change the demography of the Syrian regions it occupied “Idlib, Afrin, Azaz, Al-Bab, Jarabulus, Girê Spi, and Serêkaniyê” on the other hand.
