1,150 displaced Yazidis returned to Şengal

1,150 displaced Yazidis returned to their homes in Şengal district, from displacement camps in southern Kurdistan, according the Ministry of Immigration and Displacement.

ŞENGAL

Today, the Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Ivan Faiq Jabru, announced the return of more than a thousand displaced Yazidis to their original areas of residence in Şengal in Nineveh Governorate.

A statement by the Ministry of Immigration and Displacement stated, "The Minister announced the voluntary return of 1,150 displaced Yazidis from displacement camps in Dohuk Governorate to their original residential areas in Şengal and its affiliated districts and villages in Nineveh Governorate."

The Minister stated that “coordination has been made with the security forces, local governments in the two governorates, and the Joint Operations Command to secure their return.”

Ivan confirmed that "the Ministry took care of transporting their furniture from the camps to their original areas," noting that "the coming days will witness another voluntary return of the displaced from the Dohuk camps to their areas in Şengal."
