The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented a significant escalation in violence and casualties during the first 15 days of February, recording the deaths of 115 people in various parts of Syria.

The Observatory made clear that this toll includes victims of criminal acts, field killings, stray bullets incidents, and explosions of war remnants, a dangerous indicator of the fragile security situation and the spread of armed chaos.

According to the Observatory, the period between February 1 and 15 witnessed the deaths of civilians and military personnel in various ways, including criminal killings, revenge attacks, sectarian incidents, and explosions caused by war remnants and unexploded ordnance.

The Observatory noted that this period reflects the tragic reality for Syrians, where danger is no longer confined to the battlefronts but has been threatening civilians in the streets, homes, and neighborhoods through landmines and family disputes.
