World War III and Women's Self-Protection - Hevi Hassan

The right to self-defense and self-protection is a sacred process to preserve existence and ensure freedom no matter the circumstances, as long as there is an unjust violation of life values.

 The killing of women expresses the most comprehensive sexual fanaticism and genocide in all historical stages, whether sexually or qualitatively, and there is a need to expose the cultural, ideological, social and material invasion more than anything else, so the genocide of women should be viewed as the genocide of society; because history is a systematic genocide, and to know this history, we must know that the killing of women is a form of comprehensive exploitation, and it can only be expressed by physical violence or biological tendency. However, the positivist history based on male dominance is a problem that is rejected because there is a need for a different approach for all of humanity and not just for the sake of women's cause.

 Ongoing sexual genocide in various forms

 The policies of sexual genocide pursued by the male domination system towards women continue in different ways from individual experiences to collective experiences. Sexual genocide cannot be considered as “violence in war and conflict zones; sexual violence, violence in the workplace” because it is a single system that builds different alliances based on wrong policies, racism, colonialism, sexual fanaticism, religious fanaticism and the network of capitalist modernity. There is an undeclared war against women in war zones or in the “most advanced” countries of capitalist modernity.

 Women in Hegemony Wars

 Wars in the world have not ended since the beginning of the history of male domination, which eliminated all the values of the women's system, so women have felt the impact of wars and conflicts on societies in the most violent forms. The power of fascist, nationalist male domination has pushed women forward in all fields, and according to the strategy of "targeting women first" they target women in all wars on societies, peoples and identities. Furthermore, hundreds of thousands of women were subjected to rape or sexual exploitation by soldiers during the wars of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

 Similarly, women are subjected to rape, harassment, all kinds of pressures and various forms of violence during wars, not by chance, as controlling women means controlling the land and society, especially in Middle Eastern societies that consider women a homeland.

 On the other hand, the honor is the main reason for the success of violence against women, so the woman's body is the first arena for the control of the invading male systems with fanaticism for the state, so the first slogan of capitalist modernity became "targeting women first". It was not a coincidence that the Serbs in Bosnia, Hitler's fascism in Germany, and the barbarism of ISIS in Sinjar used rape as a tool and tactic of war.

 Self-protection awareness is one of the most important pillars of the women's liberation approach with the awareness of freedom, but what kind of self-protection? Leader Abdullah Ocalan says: "I call it (the theory of roses). I looked at the rose and saw that it produces thorns to protect itself. Even roses and plants have a way of protecting themselves. For self-protection, one only has to look at nature. Don't we have the right to defend ourselves as much as roses do? That's why I put forward the concept of self-protection. I mentioned that every group, individual, woman, and women in particular must protect themselves. I said that they must protect themselves, and everyone must know how to protect themselves with awareness and will."

 The experience of Kurdish women in war and conflict zones is a necessity for self-protection as a condition for freedom, and we must focus on this issue again. The process of mobilizing women within the Kurdish women's freedom movement from the Women's Freedom Units to the Free Women's Units-Star, from the Women's Protection Units to the Shengal Women's Units and the Women's Protection Forces, over 40 years has become an important model for women around the world in terms of awareness and organization of self-protection.

The legendary formula of the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom", which became the first slogan of the struggle for women's freedom from India, Indonesia and Kenya to Afghanistan, is the greatest evidence of this.

The experience of Kurdish women must be shared with the women of the world, and the confederation of women must be built by forming an alliance against hatred against  women.
