Women's Protection Units reveal record of commander Jinda Judy
The Women's Protection Units revealed the record of the unit's commander, Jinda Judy, and stressed that "the blood of our martyred comrades will not be in vain. We will hold Turkish fascism accountable for every attempt at invasion, and our resistance is a resistance to live with dignity."
Today, the General Command of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) issued a statement to the public opinion, in which it revealed the record of the commander Jinda Judy, which read: "Despite all the attacks of ideological genocide, the women's revolution in Rojava, with great resistance, insists on developing and building a free life. Therefore, the attacks of the fascist Turkish state on the region continue with all dirty methods. In these attacks, the occupying Turkish state targets the women of the revolutionaries in particular, and the targeting of the leaders and fighters of the Women's Protection Units today, by the drones of the occupying Turkish state, shows international shame once again.
Our comrade and leader Jinda Judy was targeted by a drone of the occupying Turkish state on the road between Amuda and Qamishlo, and as a result of this continuous attack by the occupying Turkish state, the leader Jinda Judy and our comrade Salih Khalil joined the convoys of martyrs.
Our comrade Gazal Bilge, known as Jinda Judy, was born in 1985 in Şırnak, into a family with a high national culture. In the history of the struggle for the freedom of Kurdistan, Botan is a major center for the organization of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. Our people resisted the rule of the Ottomans and the Turkish Republic, always took resistance as one of their fundamentals within the ranks of the struggle. Over the years, this resistance spirit of our people reached its peak, especially in the 1990s, and created figures such as Berivan (Benevş Akal). In the figure of Jinda Judy, this rebellious spirit was transformed into a sustainable culture. Commander Jinda is from the Botan region, where many of her heroic sons fought in the ranks of freedom, sacrificing themselves for the freedom of their people.
In 1989, during the formation of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement Army, the noble family of the leader Jinda participated in organizing the army against the Turkish occupation, led by the great leader Masum Korkmaz (Agid), and became one of our noblest and most diligent families in the history of the struggle for freedom. Through their participation and struggle, the family of our comrade Jinda showed what the real struggle for the freedom of Kurdistan is, and that paying the price ultimately brings freedom and victory.
The commander Jinda's father, Yousef Balke, joined the martyrs' caravans in 1998, when he was working within the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, and this operation was the beginning of a new journey for her towards joining the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. The leader Jinda's brothers, Firas and Rizgar, also joined the martyrs' caravans in Botan on different dates.
Based on the legacy of resistance, the commander Jinda participated in youth activities in the 1990s in Northern Kurdistan. In 2003, she joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement from Botan to actively participate in the struggle for freedom, starting her struggle from the mountains of Kurdistan. On the tops of the free mountains, as a Botan woman, she gained great experiences in the ranks of the guerrilla war.
When the revolution began in Rojava, at the invitation of Leader APO, Jinda went to the lands of Rojava Kurdistan. In the ranks of the Women's Protection Units, she became one of the brave women. In the steps of liberation, she took her place in the front lines of the battlefronts, and fought against ISIS mercenaries in battles such as Jaza, Rabia, Mabrouka, Tal Kocher, Serekaniye/ Rasl-al Ain, Martyr Rubar Lines and Hul.
During the most difficult times of the war, Commander Jinda stood up for her military duties as a female freedom fighter, and despite her injury, she did not stop fighting, and fought her battles on all fronts of resistance without distinguishing between the acts of the revolution, with her sacrifices and courage in order to protect the homeland and organize the national work for democracy. Our comrade Jinda Judy was targeted by a drone of the fascist Turkish state on October 3, 2024, and joined the convoys of martyrs.
Turkish fascism is targeting YPJ fighters and commanders, who have made great efforts in the fight against ISIS, with unreasonable methods. In this way, it highlights the reality of the Turkish genocide. Today, our resistance is a resistance to live with dignity, and we have succeeded in creating a revolution as an alternative to the lives of our dear young men and women. Of course, we will always defend our revolution with great determination as on the first day. We are a vengeful force, and the Turkish occupation should know very well that we will never leave our revenge on the ground, and that the blood of our comrades will not be in vain, and we will hold Turkish fascism accountable for every invasion attempt.
We, as YPJ, extend our deepest condolences to the family of our beloved leader Jinda Judy, to our resistant people in Botan, and to our entire national people, and we promise our comrades and commanders that we will realize their dreams and ideals of freedom. The Rojava Revolution was founded on the legacy of leaders like Jinda Judy, and will continue to raise the level of her struggle to protect the achievements of the revolution.
