The women’s delegation from North and East Syria met with several women activists from France, Mexico, and Latin America during a meeting held in Paris to discuss women’s issues and enhance avenues for joint cooperation.

The women’s delegation from North and East Syria continues its official tour across several European countries. Today, they met with women activists from France, Mexico, and Latin America in Paris.

The meeting addressed the situation of women in Al-Hol Camp and the general conditions of women in Syria, in addition to the challenges faced by women in North and East Syria under current circumstances.

The participating activists also shared their experiences in building and organizing women’s movements in their own countries, praising the experience of women in North and East Syria and its unique organizational model.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts and developing international women’s relations to strengthen women’s struggle for freedom, equality, and justice.

Since September 6, the women’s delegation from North and East Syria has been on a European tour covering several countries, during which they met with human rights and women’s organizations, as well as members of the European Parliament.

The delegation includes Amina Omar, an administrator in the Women’s Council of North and East Syria; Mona Al-Youssef, spokesperson for the Syrian Women’s Council; Shahrzad Al-Jassim, spokesperson for the Zenobia Women’s Gathering; Jian Hussein, a member of the Star Conference Coordination; and Georgette Barsomo, president of the Syriac Women’s Union.
