Women's conference kicks off in Raqqa for leader physical freedom

Under the slogan, “With the philosophy of women - life - freedom, we will guarantee the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan,” the conference is organized by Kongra Star and the Zenobia Women’s Gathering.

Members of Kongra Star, the Zenobia Women’s Gathering, the Syrian Women’s Council, and the women’s offices in the political parties in Raqqa, in addition to representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of NE Syria, women’s movements and organizations in the North and East Syria region will participate in the conference. It will also be attended by independent figures, writers, poets, doctors, and a number of female figures from the capital, Damascus,  Homs, Hama, and Latakia, in addition to interventions via Zoom from southern Kurdistan and the Middle East.

The conference includes three main axes. The first axis discusses (the repercussions of the international conspiracy and its impact on the political situation), while the second axis discusses (violations against Leader Abdullah Ocalan in accordance with international standards), while the third axis discusses (the rallies of the physical freedom campaign for Leader Abdullah Ocalan).

The conference began with the participants standing for a minute of silence, followed by a welcoming speech by the co-chair of the Raqqa  Education Body, Zuleikha Abdi, who welcomed the audience and stressed: “We are going through a historical phase, in which we announced our response to the resistance and the protection of our gains.

Abdi warned of the danger of Turkey: “It is more dangerous than ISIS in terms of its ideology and policy. Turkey announced its ambitions in the Middle East and committed massacres in Afrin, Ras al-Ayn and Tal Abyad.”

Abdi stressed that the Turkish occupation will not achieve its ambitions and will not last long because the democratic nation project is a response to these occupation policies.

Abdi added that “In order to thwart the goals of this conspiracy, women must unite their voices in the struggle and struggle to achieve the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

 At the end of her speech, she pledged, "All the martyrs that we will follow in their footsteps and we will not hesitate to raise the pace of our struggle and liberate our regions.
