Despite the ceasefire agreement between the Syrian Interim Government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, which includes a phased integration process of military and administrative forces between the two sides, signed on January 29th and revealed on January 30th, with implementation scheduled to begin on February 2nd, factions of the Interim Government continue to impose a siege on the city of Kobani for the past 18 days. The city's residents are suffering from a near-total lack of food and medical supplies, in addition to a complete power outage, which has negatively impacted all aspects of life.

Despite the siege, the women of Kobani remain resolute in their stance against the suffocating blockade imposed on the city; they expressed their views to ANHA agency.

Despite the severe siege, the people are determined to resist

In this context, citizen Falak Yousef explained that the people of Kobani and the IDPs residing there are going through immense difficulties, saying: "For a long time, the residents of Kobani have been suffering from a shortage of water, food, electricity, medicine, fuel, and internet access.  Despite this, the people are resisting with great determination and have chosen the path of resistance."

Falak pointed out that the people of Kobani have welcomed the displaced into their homes, saying: "We are in a stage of revolutionary people's war, and the people are resisting and struggling with all their might to protect their land from the brutal mercenaries. The people want to live with their own will and in their own language within their city."

For her part, Dijla Ibrahim Muslim spoke about the severe siege that has been ongoing for 18 days, saying: "Although we are under siege and surrounded on all four sides, we will never abandon the resistance, because our resistance is the protection of our dignity. We will resist until the end and we will protect the gains of the Rojava revolution."

"We will not abandon the struggle"

Dijla Muslim noted that the majority of the displaced people have not been displaced from their homes for the first time, and that some have even been displaced four times. She said: "Our struggle will continue, and we will prevail through the revolutionary people's war and our determination to resist. We are the people of martyrs, and we will protect our land, which was liberated with the blood of martyrs."

For her part, Avin Barwad stated that the resistance waged by the people is the noblest form of resistance, and said: "We will resist until the last moment. The people of Kobani, despite the attacks and difficulties, are still engaged in resistance.
