HASAKAH

Women and girls of different ages gathered today at Al-Hamama Roundabout in the Tal Hajar neighborhood in central Hasakah to hang a braid at the roundabout, condemning acts of vandalism targeting Kurdish symbols during a demonstration that set off from the Ghuwayran neighborhood in recent days. The targeted symbols included a sign featuring the Kurdish braid symbol at Marsho Roundabout in the city.

The participants carried braids and chanted slogans celebrating women’s resistance and struggle, as well as others commemorating the martyrs. They stressed that attacks on Kurdish symbols would not deter them from continuing their struggle for women’s rights and demanding constitutional guarantees for those rights, while promoting women’s participation in all areas of life and society.
