Women from Hasaka in the Jazira Canton spoke about the necessity of securing the physical freedom of leader Ocalan and its connection to the success of the call for peace and a democratic society.

In this context, Nora Omar, an administrator at the Women’s House, stated that leader Ocalan has been subjected to strict isolation for years, depriving him of his most basic rights. She added: “The release of leader Ocalan is necessary because his case is a humanitarian one. His freedom is the solution to all issues, especially the Kurdish issue. It is also capable of resolving problems in Syria, Turkey, and the entire Middle East.”

Nora noted that leade Ocalan remains present in the minds of society through his ideas and philosophy, emphasizing that all his messages have been directed toward peace and democratic society. She added:

“To achieve this peace, the leader must first be free among his people, because he is the key to solutions and peace in the Middle East.”

She also affirmed that leade Ocalan has empowered women to strengthen their role in society and attain their position across various fields—not only in Rojava, but with influence extending worldwide.

Concluding her remarks, Nora said:

“This isolation has continued for 27 years. To end it, we, as women, demand the physical freedom of our leader as soon as possible. The right to hope is a fundamental right.”

For her part, Leila Hassan, the member of Kongra Star in Hasaka, said:

“We, as women, are ready for anything that may be required of us. The freedom of leader Ocalan is our primary demand, and we will not retreat from it. His philosophy and ideas offer solutions for all peoples, especially the Kurdish people.”

Similarly, Bayan Khalil, an administrator in the organization, stressed the need for the leader’s immediate and unconditional release, stating:

“We, as women, will continue to take to the streets, and our activities will persist until our demand is achieved.”

She also called on international organizations to fulfill their duties and work toward securing the leader’s freedom.
