The residents of Sweida held a solidarity stand on Wednesday at al-Karama Square in support of the recent protests witnessed in the cities and rural areas of the Syrian coast and interior.

Alawites residing in the city alongside members of the Druze community participated in the vigil to express their solidarity with the protesters and condemn the repressive practices and violations perpetrated against the Druze community by the Syrian Transitional Government and its affiliated armed groups, demanding the protection of civilians and respect for their fundamental rights.

The participants raised banners that called for national unity and rejected sectarian incitement, emphasizing the Syrians' right to peacefully express their legitimate demands.
