As part of a series of meetings organized in cities across Jazira region, in cooperation with city councils, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held a meeting in Jel Agha under the slogan "Peoples' Fraternity and its Role in Choosing the Appropriate Form of Political Governance in Syria" to discuss the latest political developments in Syria and the areas of North and East Syria Region.

The meeting took place in Roj Hall, with the participation of Arab clans' sheikhs and dignitaries, social figures, representatives of political parties, civil and service institutions, and Jel Agha district components.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence. Then, Hussain Azzam, the co-chair of the SDC's Relations Office, welcomed the attendees and made clear that the meeting aims to strengthen dialogue among all Syrians and build a shared vision for the political administration of future Syria, based on pluralism and democracy that will consolidate security and stability.

Mahmoud al-Muslet, the co-chair of the SDC, delivered remarks emphasizing that Syria is experiencing a critical stage of reconstruction, and stressing that "the responsibility for building the new Syria lies with all its citizens."

Al-Muslet added, "There are attempts to reproduce a centralized Syria based on the previous regime, but the Syrian people did not rise up for 14 years to replace one sectarian rule with another, but rather to end the single-party rule that marginalized all components of society. We in the Syrian Democratic Council will not accept the exclusion of any component, and our goal is clear; a democratic Syria built on dialogue, peace, and the representation of all components of the people."

Al-Muslet referred to the March 10th Agreement held between General Mazloum Abdi and the head of the Transitional Government, Ahmed al-Sharaa, describing it as "a national path that should be supported to ensure its success, given its comprehensive national interest."

He considered that the clans and social figures have a pivotal role in supporting community awareness and confronting attempts at sedition and division.

He also affirmed, "The Syrian Democratic Council is open to dialogue with Turkey and other countries, on the basis that their role is positive and supports the unity of Syria and the solidarity of its people, far from encouraging division."

Then, discussion among the participants took place, as they emphasized their rejection of any new authoritarian model of governance based on marginalization or exclusion.

They called on the Transitional Government to take the March 10th Agreement seriously and not to delay its implementation, in order to reach a democratic, decentralized Syria that represents all Syrians, in which the Syrian Democratic Forces would be the nucleus for building a unified national army.
