The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) expressed its deep concern regarding the recent protests in several Syrian cities, both on the coast and interior, where citizens from the Alawite community took to the streets to express their concerns and legitimate demands related to security, justice, and ending violations.

In a statement, the SDC affirmed that peaceful protest is an inherent right of all Syrians, and must be protected and respected without any restrictions or use of force, emphasizing its rejection of any attacks or threats against any segment of Syrian society. It clarified that "the state is responsible for protecting all citizens, investigating violations, and taking the necessary measures to ensure security and the rule of law."

The SDC referred to UN Security Council Resolution of November 6, 2025, which stressed the need to proceed with a comprehensive transition process that guarantees the participation of all components of society. This places an additional responsibility on state institutions to protect citizens and respect their fundamental rights.

The SDC called for the respect for the right to peaceful protest, the provision of protection for all Syrians, and engagement in a responsible dialogue that prioritizes the interests of the country and the unity of its people above all other considerations, stressing its rejection of sectarian incitement, which threatens civil peace.

The council affirmed its support for every citizen who demands their rights through peaceful means, and its commitment to working towards a state of law and citizenship that protects human dignity and guarantees justice and equality for all Syrians.
