The Association in Southern Kurdistan held a press conference today, in which it called on the authorities to support the Kurdish people in NESyria.

The head of the association, Jamil Hawrami, spoke at the press conference, stressing the need to support the Kurdish people in NE Syria, pointing out the importance of supporting the Syrian community in general and the Kurdish people in particular.

"The crossing represents a vital lifeline for delivering aid, especially medical one, to the Kurdish people in the region, amidst a massive displacement of people as a result of attacks by armed groups affiliated with the Turkish state on NE Syria," Hawrami said.

Hawrami added that the closure of the crossing hinders the arrival of international and local support to the people facing harsh conditions, calling on the authorities in Southern Kurdistan to overcome political and humanitarian obstacles and open the crossing immediately.
