"Unless physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, peace will not be established"

Despite the "Call for Peace and a Democratic Society" by Leader Abdullah Ocalan on February 27, 2025, members of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) emphasized that the Turkish state has not taken any serious steps yet, and that the isolation of Leader Abdullah Ocalan persists.

Muhammad Ashraf Ali stated that two months have gone by since the "Call for Peace and a Democratic Society," but the Turkish state has not responded in any serious manner and remained silent.

Ashraf Ali said further, "The Turkish state is trying to dismiss this appeal of its essence. To be able to make peace, physical freedom for Leader Abdullah Ocalan has to be granted. The Turkish state should continue seriously, too, to put an end to the war, because if they don't take this seriously, there will be critical crises in the Middle East."

Huda Muhammad reiterated her call for the release of the physical freedom of the leader by saying, "Peace is impossible without the liberation of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The Turkish state keeps attacking the Freedom Mountains and, with its inability to take the call of Leader Abdullah Ocalan seriously, this proves that it does not desire peace."

Fayyad al-Hasani, in his turn, stated that Leader Abdullah Ocalan's call came to complete the democratic nation project, and continued, "We can coexist peacefully with each other through this call. The struggle initiated by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) also frightens the Turkish state so much. Leader Abdullah Ocalan called to end the unsolved problems, but the Turkish state has not taken this seriously."

He ended his remarks by saying, "Two months have passed and the Turkish state has not taken the appeal seriously. Freedom for Leader Ocalan should be guaranteed until peace is achieved, and then and only then can the accumulated problems be solved. The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture cannot remain silent while he is exposed to enforced isolation."
