The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has appointed artist Qais Sheikh Najib as its first ambassador in Syria to support children's rights, education and health programs, and community awareness.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) appointed artist Qais Sheikh Najib as its first ambassador in Syria during a press conference held in Damascus.

The organization confirmed that the new ambassador will advocate for children's rights to health, education, and protection, support policies and programs designed for them, in addition to participating in campaigns to raise awareness of UNICEF's work and mobilizing resources for children.

UNICEF's Deputy Representative in Syria, Zeinab Adam, stated that the health and education systems are under immense pressure, adding that the ambassador's role will be crucial in prioritizing children's needs.
