SANA Agency reported that two people were injured as a result of an Israeli shelling that targeted a site near the southeastern entrance to Latakia city at dawn today.

The agency quoted a "military source" as saying that at around 2:50 am today, Israel launched an air strike from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea targeting a point near the southeastern entrance to Latakia city, which resulted in the injury of two people and material damage to surrounding private property.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said At dawn today, Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike targeting an ammunition warehouse in Al-Yahudiyah area on the south-eastern outskirts of Latakia city, where violent explosions were heard and fires continued for several hours. Ambulances took two people, who are not yet known whether they were civilians or combatants, while a number of houses and cars sustained significant material damage, and the raids caused great panic among civilians.

It is noted that there is a small port belonging to Iranian militias near the targeted location.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has counted 113 times since the beginning of 2024, during which Israel targeted Syrian territory, 93 of which were airstrikes and 20 were groundstrikes. These strikes resulted in the injury and destruction of about 195 sites, including weapons and ammunition depots, headquarters, centers, and vehicles.

These strikes resulted in the deaths of 257 soldiers, in addition to wounding 181 others.
