Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş participated in the Sixth Conference of Speakers of Parliaments held in Geneva, Switzerland, and made statements to journalists about the anticipated steps regarding the "Peace and Democratic Society" initiative launched by Abdullah Ocalan.

"With the laying down of arms, the responsibility shifts to the Turkish Parliament. The process is ongoing as planned, and disarmament is still in progress. The committee will make some legal amendments related to the disarmament process," Kurtulmuş said.

He added: "This is not a platform for political debates, but a process in which our nation of 86 million people must work together to overcome this issue with a spirit of sacrifice and shared responsibility."

He confirmed that the parliament will outline its action plan in the first week, and the committee will officially begin its work during the same week.
