Today, an Iraqi military source confirmed to Roj News Agency that the Turkish occupation state has established a new military base inside the territory of southern Kurdistan in Dohuk Governorate.

The source explained: "The Turkish occupation has penetrated into Iraq to a depth of more than 90 km, which is a clear violation of Iraq's sovereignty, in addition to its ongoing air raids in various regions of the Kurdistan region."

Turkish occupation Defense Minister Yaşar Guler said 2 days ago that the military operations carried out by the Turkish occupation army in "northern Iraq will continue regardless of who supports them." Despite the condemnations and denunciations launched by the Iraqi government.

In October 2023, the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghayath al-Surji, told the local press in southern Kurdistan, “Turkey is trying to control northern Iraq under the pretext of the presence of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and the number of camps affiliated with Turkey inside and outside the Kurdistan region is 40 camps.”

In addition to the military bases that the Turkish occupation state uses in southern Kurdistan to launch attacks against the defense areas on the ground, and to collect intelligence information about patriotic and Kurdish figures to target them. The Kurdistan Democratic Party, which cooperates directly with the occupation, handed over several points belonging to its forces to the Turkish occupation army.
