According to informed sources, the Turkish occupation army declared a state of alert in the Amadiya district, part of Duhok province, after one of its bases was struck by mortar shells, as reported by Roj News.

The sources noted that the base was established about a month ago and is among the posts set up during the recent Turkish invasion of S. Kurdistan.

Turkey has escalated its attacks and increased its incursion into Iraqi territory by more than 150 km, setting up a large number of military outposts, exploiting the region’s ongoing unrest and the cooperation and silence of both the Baghdad and Hawler governments.

This week, engineering teams affiliated with the Turkish occupation army began constructing military logistical roads on five slopes located north and east of areas near Amadiya and the Metina mountains, which are approximately 30 kilometers from the Iraqi-Turkish border.

On October 5, Turkish occupation forces brought in new military reinforcements to Amadiya, under the protection of forces from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
