Traffic partially resumes on Tabqa-Deir Hafer-Aleppo road

The Syrian Transitional Government Forces have allowed travelers to cross the Tabqa-Deir Hafer-Aleppo road partially, while commercial freight traffic remains suspended, after a closure that lasted for more than two months.

Passenger buses managed to travel on Thursday on the Tabqa-Deir Hafer road after checkpoints manned by the Syrian Transitional Government Forces at the Humeimah checkpoint allowed passage, following a closure that began on September 27.

According to bus drivers, traveling from Tabqa in North and East Syria to Aleppo in the Syrian interior, the personnel present at the Hmeimeh checkpoint informed them that the road would be open daily between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and closed at night except for critical medical emergencies.

The drivers reported that passenger buses and motorcycles were able to travel, while trucks carrying goods and essential supplies remained closed for unknown reasons.

Therefore, the traffic between areas in North and East Syria and the Syrian interior resumed on Wednesday, via the Tabqa-Athriya road, after a two-month closure.
