Thousands of voices in Jazira chant, "Long live Rojava resistance"

In support of the Rojava resistance and to affirm the unity of the Kurdish people in the face of challenges, and in solidarity with the forces defending their land and dignity, the cities of Girkê Legê, Derik, and Amuda in the Jazira region witnessed massive marches.

The Girkê Legê march, in which residents of Rumailan and Girkê Legê participated, along with members of various institutions, began at the Martyr Khebat Square. During the march, the participants held flags of the People's Protection Units (YPG) and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), and carried banners with "Our rights must be guaranteed in the constitution" written on.

Upon reaching the central market, the march transformed into a public rally, were the participants held a minute of silence. Then, Fatima Laqto delivered a speech on behalf of the Popular Initiative, in which she confirmed that "this march is a clear message to the world that the will of the peoples is stronger than all attempts at oppression, and that women have always been and remain at the forefront of the resistance."

She emphasized "the necessity of protecting the rights of the Kurdish people within a firm and non-negotiable legal framework, and that the unity of the people is the fundamental source of strength, through which the Kurds can build their future and ensure their voice is respected in any constitution or political agreement."

She affirmed that "the unity of the people is the strongest weapon against any aggression, and we will continue to support the Rojava resistance in all its forms."

The march concluded with chants, most notably, "Long live the Rojava resistance."

The march in Derik began at al-Hurriyah (Freedom) Square, with participants waving Kurdish flags and carrying banners with, "Our rights must be guaranteed in the constitution" written on.

Upon reaching the Corniche Street, the march transformed into a protest, beginning with a minute of silence. Mohamed Abdel Rahim; the member of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Council then delivered a speech in which he stated that the Rojava resistance and the unity of the Kurdish people had defeated international plots against them.

He stressed, "The Kurdish people in Rojava, South and North Kurdistan, and in European countries must continue their uprising to guarantee the rights of the Kurdish people in the Syrian constitution." He affirmed the need to protect the gains achieved by the martyrs of Rojava.

The march concluded with chants praising the Rojava resistance.

The march in Amuda began at the Free Woman Square, with participants holding flags of the YPG and YPJ, and banners that included "Our rights must be guaranteed in the constitution." Upon reaching the city center, the marchers held a minute of silence, followed by a speech delivered by Maha Zoro, the co-chair of the Topz Town Council. In her address, she asserted that history is repeating itself through schemes targeting the Kurdish people with the aim of their annihilation.

She called for legitimate rights, Kurdish identity, and the rights of Kurdish women, and emphasized that the unity of the people and the continuation of the resistance are the only path towards achieving full rights.

The march concluded with chants saluting the Rojava resistance.
