Israeli incursion halts traffic in Quneitra countryside

An Israeli force carried out a temporary incursion into the southern countryside of Quneitra, where it set up a roadblock, leading to a halt in traffic.

An Israeli force penetrated into the southern countryside of Quneitra on Tuesday, setting up a temporary military checkpoint on the road linking the towns of al-Muallaqa and Ghadeer al-Bustan, bringing traffic to a standstill for several hours.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the forces deployed around the road and conducted reconnaissance operations, causing concern among the residents and farmers, before later withdrawing.

The Observatory also documented on Monday the arrest of three young men by Israeli forces while they were collecting firewood in the town of Jabata al-Khashab in the northern countryside of Quneitra.

These actions are part of repeated Israeli violations in Southern Syria, where the Observatory has documented land leveling, trench digging, and the establishment of advanced observation posts, all while the Syrian Interim Government remains inactive.
