Residents from the regions of North and East Syria took turns in groups at the Tishrin Dam south of Kobani, which has been under attack since December 8, 2024.

On Wednesday, thousands of people from Jazera, Raqqa, Tabqa, and Euphrates Cantons, including Kurds, Arabs, and Syriacs, headed toward the Tishrin Dam to stop the Turkish occupation's attacks and protect the dam, which is a vital facility in the region.

The Syrian Democratic Forces confirmed in a statement that the Tishrin Dam is at risk of collapse due to Turkish attacks, which could result in a humanitarian catastrophe across the region.

As the convoy reached the outskirts of the city of Serrin, the Turkish occupation bombed the convoy heading toward the Tishrin Dam, resulting in the martyrdom of three civilians and injuring 15 others, some of them critically.

Despite the Turkish shelling, the crowds continued on foot and managed to reach the dam, where they began the shift activities.

Thousands of residents from Jazera, Tabqa, Raqqa, and Euphrates Cantons spent their night at the Tishrin Dam, affirming that their main goal is to protect the dam and prevent a humanitarian disaster in the area. They called on the general public, particularly the youth, to join the vigil activities.

ANHA correspondent, Dijla Ahmed, who accompanied the convoy, observed the residents' enthusiasm and determination to stay at the dam and protect it from collapse.
