On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the founding of the SDF, TEV-DEM issued a statement praising its role.

The statement emphasized that this occasion represents the "birth of hope for building a free democratic society amid the darkness of terrorism and sectarian and ethnic conflict imposed on the Syrian people by regional and international forces."

TEV-DEM highlighted that the establishment of the SDF was a historical necessity to unite the Syrian people around democratic and freedom-oriented values and to achieve the goals of the Syrian revolution, which were stolen by "terrorist factions" and parties aligned with regional agendas, primarily the Turkish state.

The movement also underscored the pivotal role of the SDF in defeating ISIS mercenaries, starting from the Battle of Kobani in 2014 led by the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), up to the elimination of the last mercenary strongholds in Al-Baghuz in 2019.

It stressed that "the ideology of the Democratic Nation, proposed by Leader Abdullah Ocalan, was a decisive factor in uniting the communities of northern and eastern Syria and defeating terrorism."

TEV-DEM added that the SDF, which includes Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Armenians, Turkmens, Christians, Yazidis, and Muslims, has proven over a decade that it represents the true hope not only for the communities of North and East Syria but for all Syrians, especially after the fall of the Ba’ath regime and the rise of jihadist political Islam to power in Damascus, along with the associated violations against multiple religious and social groups.

The TEV-DEM honored the SDF on its anniversary, praising the sacrifices of its fighters, martyrs, and wounded, and called on the Syrian people to "rally around the Syrian Democratic Forces and unite with them to build a new, free, democratic, decentralized Syria, free from terrorism, extremism, and foreign domination."

The statement confirmed TEV-DEM’s continued support for the SDF, which carries the banner of defending human values and protecting the country’s cultural and social diversity, and which "faces ongoing attempts by anti-democratic forces to weaken it and exclude it from any role in Syria’s future."
