TEV-DEM names new Co-Presidency

 The TEV-DEM held its fifth conference today under the slogan "Democratic Society Organizations: Ensuring Freedom, Justice and Equality" in the city of Hasaka, with the attendance of 500 participants, including delegates, guests and representatives of civil institutions, political movements and social organizations in NE Syria.

 During the conference, the TEV-DEM discussed its work and deliberations through reading and extensive discussion of the directives and instructions related to national policy and democratic society organizations, as well as reading the movement's general report, in addition to reading the charter and internal regulations and making amendments to them.

 The TEV-DEM elected "Abdul Salam Mahmoud and Ramzia Muhammad" as the new joint presidency of the movement, in addition to approving 100 members of the General Council.

The conference concluded its work with a set of recommendations, which were as follows:

 - Considering leader physical freedom as a top priority.

 - Supporting and backing the global campaign demanding the physical freedom of leader  Ocalan, and resolving the Kurdish issue.

 - Supporting the training field for all unions and organizations of the democratic society within the framework of essential protection.

 - Working to strengthen the structure of the organizations of the democratic society, and establishing diplomatic relations with civil society organizations and institutions at the regional and international levels.

 - Establishing a women's council within the organizational structure of the movement.

 - Emphasizing the importance of the role of youth within the organizations of democratic society through organization and training.

 - Directing all unions to join the communes with the aim of raising the level of organizational and service performance of the commune.

 - The necessity of holding the Kurdistan National Conference at this sensitive stage.

 - Working to liberate all occupied areas and ensure the safe return of all displaced to their homes.
