Tel-Hamis residents: Tishrin Dam resistance represents of revolutionary soul of our people

Since the fall of the Ba'ath regime in Syria, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries have intensified their attacks on northeastern Syria, targeting infrastructure and civilians without exception. The vital Tishrin Dam, considered one of the most important and largest dams in Syria, has been the most affected by these attacks. In response to these assaults, the people of northeastern Syria have mobilized to defend their areas, making the Tishrin Dam a central point for resistance and dam protection, where they have been periodically protesting since January 8.

The residents of the city of Tel Hamis in al-Jazira region, who participated in the protests at the dam, affirm that these attacks will only increase their determination to resist. Citizen Farouk al-Mohammed expressed his pride and happiness in going to the Tishrin Dam, and confirmed, "Despite the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries directly attacking the protesters at the dam, this has not weakened our resolve or our will to confront their occupation plans. On the contrary, it has strengthened our determination, power, and insistence to continue resisting and maintaining a vigil at the dam."

For her part, citizen Hawzeen al-Abdullah condemned the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries' attacks on the region, especially on the Tishrin Dam. She affirmed, "The Turkish occupation's attacks, which violate all international laws and human rights, will only strengthen our resolve to resist and stand by our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, in confronting their assaults."

Citizen Abdul Salam al-Jassem said: "The resistance of the Tishrin Dam represents the resistance of all components of the region, a tangible embodiment of the concept of revolutionary people's war, and a confirmation that victory is near."

He called on all the region's people to continue resisting at the Tishrin Dam and to assert their legitimate right to defend their land against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

Since December 8, 2024, the Tishrin Dam has been subjected to attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, using warplanes, drones, cannons, missiles, and mortars, causing significant damage to the dam's structure.
