Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas in southern Lebanon yesterday killed a Syrian man and injured another. Both men were inside a vehicle garage in the town of Deir Siryan, Marjeyoun District. One of the direct strikes hit the targeted area, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

The Lebanese National News Agency confirmed that rescue and firefighting teams faced significant difficulties in reaching the site of the strike due to the continued low-flying of Israeli drones over the town, which sparked fear and anxiety among civilians.

Israeli warplanes launched a series of violent raids targeting various areas in southern Lebanon, including the outskirts of the towns of Yahmar al-Shaqif, Adshit al-Qusayr, al-Qantara, and Jbaa, as well as the areas of al-Barbaj and Tuffahta. Two raids also targeted the outskirts of the town of Ansar in the Nabatieh District.

The Israeli military said in a statement that its strikes targeted Hezbollah sites, including weapons depots, missile launchers, and military infrastructure, claiming that the party was using them to store engineering equipment in an attempt to rehabilitate damaged facilities.

While an Israeli military spokesperson warned of "Hezbollah's exploitation of civilian infrastructure as human shields," reports from citizens in Southern Lebanon expressed fears of a broader escalation that could extend to the western Bekaa Valley, amid rumors of a plan to invade the area similar to the 1982 invasion.

Israeli drones continued to fly at low altitudes this morning over the villages of Bint Jbeil, while Lebanese authorities and rescue teams remained on alert for further raids.
