During the past two months, the Syrian Democratic Forces, in the midst of its operations to enhance security and stability and combat mercenary and sabotage groups in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, arrested a number of mercenaries.

The mercenaries who were arrested infiltrated areas controlled by the Damascus government to spread chaos and commit acts of sabotage in service institutions.

The media center of the Syrian Democratic Forces published the confessions of 4 mercenaries on the official website, which are as follows:

The first mercenary made his confessions and said, “My name is Ibrahim Awad Al-Hamidi and from the Al-Shaddadi area, I moved to the areas controlled by the Syrian regime, and immediately after I crossed the Euphrates River, I headed to the so-called “settlement” hall. After I completed the settlement papers, I joined the security forces. And I signed a pledge to do so.”

The mercenary “Al-Hamidi” added in the context of his confessions, “One of the conditions for the settlement is joining one of the militias affiliated with the regime, where the person is equipped and provided with the weapons and ammunition necessary to fight, and directed to either the “Baqir Brigade,” the “National Defense,” the “Lions of the East,” or the groups. belonging to the so-called “Ibrahim Al-Hafel”, and every person who makes the settlement is forced to join one of those militias.”

The mercenary elaborated on his confessions by saying, “I asked about Colonel Madian, and I was told that he went to Al-Mayadeen on work, and I later confirmed that he went to meet Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Hafel, who was there. For the purpose of forming a militia affiliated with him, equipping it militarily, and then it will cross to the eastern bank of the Euphrates River to fight the Syrian Democratic Forces.”

Regarding the mission of Colonel “Madin,” he said, “His mission is that he is responsible for the counter-terrorism department in Deir ez-Zor, and Colonel “Madin” asked me to go to the “Al-Shaddadi” area, as it is my area, and form a section affiliated with what is called the “Clan Army,” and they will provide me with weapons. And ammunition, and he asked me to target SDF military areas, such as targeting leaders with mines, military vehicles, checkpoints, and SDF sites.”

The mercenary “Al-Hamidi” explained that the last goal that Colonel “Madin” set for him was “to appeal to the regime forces to enter the region. He also warned us against targeting the sites of the international coalition, as their goal was to limit the conflict with the Syrian Democratic Forces and spread lies about them.”

He continued his confessions, saying, “A person from the Department of Security Studies named Anas came to me, called me and told me that he and the official were coming to me. Of course, by then I had recruited a number of people. “Anas” and a security assistant named “Abu Abdo” arrived at my house and we discussed the matter. They told me that I had groups in Al-Shaddadi; They will support me with weapons and ammunition, I just have to carry out the attacks. Of course, the aim of carrying out operations on the Al-Shaddadi axis was to occupy the SDF forces from behind, cut off the supply routes to Deir ez-Zor, and spread chaos and disrupt the military regime.”

The mercenary “Al-Hamidi” also admitted that he had recruited a person for the regime forces in Deir ez-Zor, and others directly affiliated with him, to carry out operations against the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The mercenary “Al-Hamidi” ended his confessions by saying, “On the second day after the meeting with the assistant, Abu Abdo, I called a person and he came in a car to the crossing, and we loaded the ammunition and headed with it to the eastern bank of the Euphrates River. We had with us a thousand Kalashnikov rounds, as well as a thousand weapon rounds ( B.K.C), four anti-armor mines and twenty hand grenades.”

Meanwhile, the mercenary “Dahham Ramadan Al-Hassan” admitted, saying, “I was born in 1998 and from the people of Al-Hamra.” A person called me from a strange number and said to me: “Do you know me?” I told him, “No, I did not know you.” He introduced himself to me as “Ibrahim Awad Al-Hamidi,” and told me that he had crossed to the western bank of the Euphrates River in areas controlled by the regime, and he asked me what we did during the events. I told him that we have never moved, and there are no problems in our areas. All the events are in Deir ez-Zor. He asked me to form a military group, and promised me that he would provide me with weapons, ammunition, and money, and work for the benefit of the regime. So I asked him: What are we going to do? He said to me: “You burn a car and photograph it, and claim that what was done by the “Al-Maamara” clan or “Suqour Al-Maamara,” for example.” He also stressed that we will block the roads and do everything in the name of the “Al-Maamara” clan or “Revolutionaries.” “Al-Maamara,” similar to what other clans do.

The mercenary “Al-Hassan” added, saying, “I sent him my name and the name “Taha” so that he could register them with the regime forces, and he asked us to target the military vehicles of (SDF) in the name of “the clans,” but in reality they are regime forces, and he assured me that they would support us with weapons, ammunition, and explosive devices IEDs and money, and his goal was to recruit the largest possible number of people and incite them against the Syrian Democratic Forces, and to pave the way for the entry of the regime forces into our regions, meaning that the goal is to form a force for the benefit of the regime, but under the name of the tribes.”

The third mercenary also made his confessions by saying, “My name is Taha Jarwan Ahmed Al-Hassan, and I was born in 1992 Al-Shaddadi. I sent my name to “Dahham,” and he in turn sent it to “Ibrahim,” in order to make a settlement with the regime. At the time, “Ibrahim Al-Hamidi” was residing in the “Al-Mayadeen” area, which is under the control of the Syrian regime forces, and he asked me to form military groups in the name of the tribes, and to call them “Suqour Al-Maamara,” and we would target the (SDF) forces as well as the oil tankers, and we would film all of these operations and send them. He, in addition to inciting the tribes to rise up against the SDF forces, convinced the world and public opinion that the tribes are the ones carrying out these operations, while the truth is that the regime forces are the ones planning and implementing them. In preparation for its entry into our regions.”

The mercenary “Hassan” claimed that he had no contact with anyone; Rather, the mercenary “Dahham” was communicating with a group on the western side of the river, that is, in the areas controlled by the Syrian regime.

The fourth mercenary also made his confessions by saying, “My name is Abd al-Rahman Ubaid Hamid al-Tarboush from the village of al-Muwaileh, the town of al-Sur.” I joined the ranks of the regime forces through a person named “Ibrahim Al-Hamidi,” who works for two security branches of the regime. Military Security and Air Force Intelligence. The two security branches sent “Ibrahim Al-Hamidi” with a mission to target the Syrian Democratic Forces, and I joined them in order to obtain a financial reward, and he told me that we would go out for two or three days on a mission and we would return. Then I tried to find out the details of the work, so I asked him: “On what basis will I work with you?” He said to me: “First, you will obtain a military card, through which you will be able to move around in all areas controlled by the Syrian regime. You will also receive a salary and a reward, and our mission is for two days.” Or just three, no more, and I asked him where we were going, and he told me that he had been assigned by the branch, with an official mission, to target (SDF) sites on Jazira”

He continued his confessions by saying, “We set off in a car from the Al-Joura area and arrived at the crossing leading to the western bank of the Euphrates River. There we loaded the equipment and ammunition into the cruiser and wrapped it in the tent fabric. The ammunition consisted of four mines and a thousand Kalashnikov rounds, in addition to a thousand B.K.C rounds.”) and twenty hand grenades.

He continued his confessions by saying, “Ibrahim was coordinating the work with another person and his group, and another person with us was calling him “Ibrahim,” but he did not answer his call, so he called my phone and reassured us that we had arrived safe and sound to the other side, and asked us if we had carried out some operations, and that the Brigadier General Waiting for video documented work from us.”

He also added, “The National Defense opened the way for them to reach the island with their weapons and equipment, with the aim of supporting the tribes and fighting with them against the (SDF) forces. The regime allowed the so-called “Jerusalem Brigade” to enter the areas of the island, but the force that was most lenient with it was the forces of the “Al-Shaitat” clan. Because the majority who were entering the areas of the island were from “Al-Shaitat” and “National Defense” and were fighting under the name of the tribes.”

At the end of his confessions, the mercenary “Al-Hassan” said, “The first and last goal of the regime forces in creating these events is; It is to enter the areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces and extend their control over them.”
