The Syrian Democratic Forces announced that they had carried out a security operation in al-Hol camp, resulting in the arrest of two leaders of ISIS mercenary cells.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) revealed that its Military Operations Teams (TOL) carried out a security operation against ISIS mercenary cells in al-Hol camp, east of Hasaka, which resulted in the arrest of two leaders. The operation was supported by the International Coalition.

In detail, the forces stated in a statement published on their official website today, the following: “After completing surveillance, investigation, and intelligence gathering operations, our forces were able to identify and arrest the terrorist leaders Mahmoud Safi I, nicknamed "Abu al-Baraa," and Abdul Razzaq Mahmoud al-Salama, nicknamed "Abu Abdul Rahman."

The statement explained that "Mahmoud" is known as the "military emir" of ISIS mercenaries inside the camp, where he carried out "terrorist operations," in addition to his involvement in smuggling people and weapons to and from the camp.

The statement also stated that the other mercenary, "Abdul Razzaq," was a leader and known as the "Sharia authority of the terrorist organization" within the camp, tasked with recruiting children, delivering so-called "Sharia lessons," and indoctrinating them with ISIS ideology.

The statement indicated that the forces seized three smartphones in their possession, which they were using to communicate with their leaders in areas under Turkish occupation control.

The Syrian Democratic Forces concluded their statement by affirming that they will continue their security operations to pursue ISIS mercenary cells and will strike hard against anyone who attempts to harm them. It seeks to destabilize the security and stability of NE Syria.
