Syriac Union holds transitional govt responsible for killing of 2 youths in Wadi al-Nasara

The Syriac Union Party issued a statement condemning the crime that occurred in Anaz, in the western countryside of Homs, on October 1, which resulted in the killing of the two young men, Wissam Mansour and Shafiq Mansour, members of the Christian community.

The statement emphasized that "this criminal act represents a blatant violation of human and national values and targets the diverse and cohesive Syrian social fabric."

The party held the transitional government in Syria fully responsible, both in terms of failing to protect civilians and for leaving areas like Wadi al-Nasara exposed to security threats.

The Syriac Union also warned of the danger of targeting predominantly Christian areas, considering that "silence in the face of these crimes constitutes indirect complicity with their perpetrators."

It called on the relevant authorities to identify the perpetrators and hold them accountable immediately, and to take the necessary measures to protect civilians and prevent the recurrence of such violations.
