The source emphasized: "Plans are taking shape behind the scenes against Hezbollah in Lebanon."

The Israeli channel "Kan" reported that the security establishment of Syria's interim government is preparing for the possibility of intervening against Hezbollah in Lebanon—despite public denials from Damascus, where interim Prime Minister Ahmed al-Sharaa has officially rejected US President Donald Trump's proposal to take action against the group.

According to the channel, a Syrian security source close to the government recently stated that plans targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon are being formulated behind the scenes and will be implemented if necessary. The source noted, "There is a gap between what is said publicly and what is happening behind the scenes."

The source added that directives issued to the upper echelons of the Syrian security establishment mandate action to counter and thwart any Hezbollah presence on the ground.

It is worth noting that US President Trump has stated on several recent occasions that interim Prime Minister Ahmed al-Sharaa—rather than Israel—is the most suitable party to handle the issue of Hezbollah in Lebanon.
