In her turn, the spokeswoman for the Women's Protection Units, Roxanne Mohammed, said that they will continue the struggle until all the kidnapped Yazidi women are rescued and liberated, and she stressed the need to recognize the autonomous administration of Shengal to stop the genocide against the Yazidis.

The two Yazidi girls, Tawaf and Aziza, expressed their gratitude to the Women's Protection Units, and said that they will not forget their sacrifices, nor will they forget how the Kurdistan Democratic Party's Peshmerga abandoned Shengal and handed it over to ISIS.
