A new explosion was heard in the western countryside of As-Suwayda. ANHA correspondents reported that the sound resulted from shelling targeting Damascus authorities' forces near the village of Kanaker, with no further details provided.

Residents of the village suspect that the shelling was an Israeli strike targeting a convoy belonging to "General Security" attempting to reach Kanaker.

Israeli media outlets, quoting Israeli army sources, stated that "Israeli warplanes attacked a convoy of the transitional authorities in Syria as it attempted to storm the town of Kanaker in the Damascus countryside."

Shortly before, a farm on the western side of the city was also shelled, with conflicting reports about the nature of the attack.

Earlier this morning, sites in Damascus were subjected to aerial bombing near the presidential palace. The Damascus authorities have yet to comment, while the Israeli army has claimed responsibility for the strike.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated on the "X" platform that fighter jets struck "the area near the residence of Ahmad Hussein Al-Shara in Damascus."

In the early hours following the strike, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel had targeted a location near the presidential palace in Damascus, reiterating his pledge to protect the Druze community.

In a joint statement with Defense Minister Israel Katz, Netanyahu said: "Israel launched an airstrike last night near the presidential palace in Damascus. We will not allow (Syrian) forces to deploy south of Damascus or pose any threat to the Druze."

Over the past three days, areas inhabited by the Druze community in the Damascus countryside, as well as in As-Suwayda and its surroundings, have witnessed security tensions and clashes between local armed groups and Damascus authorities' forces, resulting in over 75 deaths. Efforts for de-escalation are ongoing, though some parties continue to escalate the situation.
