HPG: Turkish occupation bombards Medya defense areas 1,084 times

The Media Center of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) issued a statement today regarding the Turkish occupation’s attacks on the Medya defense areas, stating:

“Attacks by the Turkish occupation army using prohibited weapons:

Between April 29 and May 1, our tunnels in the resistance area of Amadiya Hill in the Martyr Delil area, west of Zap, were bombed with prohibited weapons 3 times.

Air strikes by the Turkish occupation army:

On April 28, 29, and 30, warplanes bombed the resistance area of Bahar Hill in the Martyr Delil area, west of Zap, 5 times.

Heavy weapons and artillery shell attacks by the Turkish occupation army:

On April 29, 30, and May 1, the resistance areas of Bire Zine, Lolan, and Sinine in the Khakurk area were shelled 42 times with heavy weapons and artillery. The squares of Zankil Hill, Rashid Hill, Zivk, Karkash, Spindar, Miji, and Dersh in the Gare area were bombed 90 times. The resistance squares in Shilaz, Bishili, and Sere Metina in the Metina area were bombed 417 times. The resistance squares in Amadiya Hill and Bahar Hill in the Martyr Delil area, west of Zap, were bombed 527 times. Thus, the total number of attacks using heavy weapons and artillery shells reached 1,076.

On April 29, 30, and May 1, the Turkish occupation army also launched bulldozer attacks on our tunnels and trenches in the resistance squares of Bahar Hill and Amadiya Hill in the Martyr Delil area, west of Zap.

Our forces’ defensive response and tactical counteractions to the attacks:

On April 29 at 15:30, our forces responded to occupation soldiers attacking resistance tunnels in the Sinine resistance area in Khakurk with a suicide drone, which resulted in its destruction.

On April 29, between 13:30 and 13:45, Free Women’s Units – Star intervened against hostile targets in an offensive posture in the Baz resistance area in Metina, using semi-automatic weapons and sniper rifles. The intervention led to damaging an enemy position and destroying a surveillance camera system.

On April 29, our forces carried out an intervention with semi-automatic weapons in the resistance area of Bahar Hill in the Martyr Delil area, west of Zap. They confronted occupation soldiers launching bulldozer attacks on our tunnels and trenches, resulting in damage to one of the bulldozers.

On April 30 at 15:05, our forces carried out a special-style intervention in the resistance area of Amadiya Hill, within the Martyr Delil area, west of Zap, targeting occupation soldiers who were calling for surrender and attacking our tunnels and trenches. The intervention resulted in hitting an occupation site.
