Sheikhs, notables of clans in al-Jazira affirm their support for dialogue and peace.

The Council of Notables in al-Jazira region, in coordination with the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the Internal Security Forces, held an extensive meeting for the sheikhs and dignitaries of the Arab clans, as well as cultural and social figures, to discuss the latest political developments in Syria. The meeting took place at the Shato restaurant in the city of al-Hasakah.

The meeting began with a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs, followed by a discussion on the political situation by the representative of the Autonomous Administration, Jihad Hassan. During his speech, he addressed the call for peace and a democratic society made by leader Abdullah Ocalan, alongside the PKK's self-dissolution, the end of armed struggle, and the transition into a new phase.

He added, "Regarding Syria, there are significant challenges. Syria is a diverse country, and with the unity of its components, the crisis can be resolved. Therefore, there should be a solution to all issues according to a comprehensive constitution that guarantees the rights of everyone."

Jahid Hassan pointed out, saying: "The other challenges are significant, whether from the geographical side or from the component side. We saw what happened in the coast, along with the presence of foreign fighters in Syria and their assumption of positions."

Hassan emphasized in his speech the "unity of the region's people around the Syrian Democratic Forces, especially in the Tishrin Dam, and urged the attendees to support the ongoing agreements between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and Damascus. He confirmed that there are some challenges, but dialogues are still ongoing and will expand in the future through the committee formed for dialogue with Damascus."

Jihad Hassan confirmed at the end of his speech that "the 8 points agreed upon by General Mazloum Abdi and the head of the transitional authority, Ahmad al-Shara'a are the foundation of the dialogues and must be adhered to by all."

Then, a discussion was opened to the attendees, with all opinions revolving around the unity of the components of North and East Syria, alongside their support for the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces. Additionally, there was a call for Damascus to adhere to the terms of the agreement made between General Mazloum Abdi and Ahmad al-Shara'a. The speeches also urged the region's notables and its people to reject hate speech and stand against sedition.

The meeting concluded with a statement delivered by the sheikh of al-Tai tribe council, Hassan Farhan, which emphasized the following:

"After our meeting as Arab rituals in al-Jazira region, and our discussion of the political situation in light of the recent developments on the Syrian scene, and the necessity of reaching a solution that satisfies everyone and ending all manifestations and remnants of the events in Syria, we affirm the Damascus Agreement between General Mazloum Abdi and President Ahmad al-Shara'a, and its full implementation without touching any of the eight clauses, which serves all components of the Syrian people."
