Self-Defense fighter martyred repelling ISIS attack in Jazera Canton

A fighter from the Self-Defense Forces was martyred while repelling an ISIS mercenary attack on a fuel tanker on the road between the cities of al-Shaddadi and al-Dashisha in Jazera Canton. The tanker driver also lost his life.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stated, "At 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, four terrorists from ISIS cells, riding motorcycles, attacked a fuel tanker on the road between the cities of al-Shaddadi and al-Dashisha in the rural areas of Hasaka and Deir ez-Zor."

The statement, published by the SDF Media Center, added that the attack resulted in the death of the tanker driver, Ibrahim Shahab, who was from Aleppo, as well as damage to the tanker.

The statement further clarified, "During the intervention by the Self-Defense Forces, clashes broke out with the terrorists, resulting in the martyrdom of one of the Self-Defense Forces fighters."

The forces emphasized once again in the statement the "danger posed by ISIS cells" and added, "This danger has been growing amid the ongoing Turkish occupation's attacks on our areas, necessitating continuous military campaigns against it until it is eradicated at its roots."
