Security Forces in Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh reveal latest developments

The Internal Security Forces in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo repelled a large-scale attack launched today by the Syrian Interim Government forces on several fronts around the two neighborhoods, amid fierce clashes that are still ongoing.

In a statement to the public, the Internal Security Forces revealed the latest developments, saying:

“Today, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) repelled a large-scale attack launched by forces affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government on several fronts around Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo.

The attack targeted the Jal’a axis, the al-Jazeera checkpoint, and the Younani Hospital axis, where intense clashes took place between the two sides, and the Internal Security Forces repelled the assault.

At the same time, clashes also renewed around the al-Layramoun and al-Shihan roundabouts, and fighting is still continuing, further worsening the security situation in the area.

As of the time of this statement, the Internal Security Forces have successfully repelled the attack, while clashes are still ongoing.”
