Security Forces celebrate 12th anniversary in Qamishlo

The Internal Security Forces celebrated their twelfth founding anniversary this evening at Qamishlo’s March 12 Stadium in North and East Syria, with the participation of the General Command of the Internal Security Forces in the Jazira Canton, along with members from the departments of operations, anti-crime and organizations, counter-narcotics, general security, emergency response, traffic, and counter-terrorism, as well as many local residents.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence, accompanied by the raising of the forces’ flags and portraits of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of society.

This was followed by musical performances by artists Imad Kamlo, Mohammed Kamlo, and Muayad Shweish, who presented a collection of patriotic and emotional songs, generating great enthusiasm among the audience, who expressed their joy through dancing and chanting in celebration of this historic day.

In a special statement to ANHA agency, Helat Mohammed, commander of the Women’s Division of the Internal Security Forces in the Jazira region, congratulated all patriotic citizens on the founding anniversary of the Internal Security Forces.

“At the beginning of our establishment, we faced major challenges from the attacks of ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, and the Turkish occupation,” she said. “But these hardships strengthened our resolve to reach where we are today. In the early days, we numbered only in the dozens; today, our forces count in the thousands.”

Helat emphasized that “twelve years of struggle have shown that security in North and East Syria is not an authority imposed upon society, but a force emerging from it and dedicated to protecting it. We continue the path of our martyred comrades with a sense of duty and belonging to the people who have entrusted us with their confidence.”

She added that the coming stage will see advancements in the organizational and technical capacities of the Internal Security Forces to meet emerging challenges, along with expanding the role of women in security decision-making positions. “Women have proven their competence and ability to manage sensitive security matters,” she affirmed, “and we will continue to empower them across all institutions.”

Helat Mohammed concluded her statement by pledging to follow in the footsteps of the martyrs until the desired goals are achieved and peace and security are established throughout North and East Syria, affirming that the women of the Internal Security Forces will remain the vigilant eyes safeguarding the safety and stability of the region to the very end.
