SDF Kills ISIS Senior terrorist in Deir Ezzor

A leader of ISIS mercenaries was killed, after refusing to surrender to the Syrian Democratic Forces, during a security operation that took place in al-Jurzy town in Deir Ezzor countryside.

SDF's Media Center stated, "On January 7, our Anti-terrorism Units (YAT), in cooperation with the International Coalition forces, conducted a joint security operation in the al-Jurzy town in Deir Ezzor, targeting an ISIS senior terrorist called Muhammed Atiyah, aka Abu Mahmoud, who was responsible for carrying out terrorist assassinations against security and military personnel in the region.

Backed by the coalition’s aerial support, our YAT units raided where the terrorist Abu Mahmoud was hiding in the al-Jurzy town in Deir Ezzor and called him for safe surrender, yet the terrorist Abu Mahmoud clashed with our forces, adamantly refusing to surrender. Our forces dealt with the situation professionally and successfully eliminated him. During the operation, weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were seized. The items confiscated include:

Quantity of Ak-47 ammunition

Surveillance cameras /1/

Various documents and personal identification papers.
