SDF: Fighter martyred, 4 children injured in 2 attacks on Deir Hafar

In a statement issued by its Media Center, the SDF declared the martyrdom of one of its fighters and the injury of 4 children in two separate attacks on Deir Hafar in Tabqa Canton, North and East Syria. The statement read:

“One of our fighters was martyred on Wednesday from wounds sustained after an attack carried out by factions affiliated with the Damascus government, using two suicide drones that targeted one of our positions in the Deir Hafar area on Tuesday evening. This was followed by random artillery shelling that targeted safe civilian gatherings and continued for hours.

On Tuesday afternoon, the village of Zubayda also came under artillery fire, which injured 4 children with varying degrees of wounds, in yet another assault confirming the determination of the Damascus government’s armed forces to create chaos and deliberately target civilians.

Earlier on Saturday evening, Damascus forces committed a horrific massacre in Deir Hafar, which claimed the lives of eight civilians, including two children who were martyred instantly, while a third child was martyred after being transferred to the hospital. 4 other civilians were also injured with varying wounds as a result of direct artillery shelling on people’s homes.

These repeated brutal attacks represent a military escalation aimed at creating chaos, spreading fear, and forcibly displacing residents from their homes. They also expose the true nature of the government-affiliated factions, which commit the most heinous crimes against unarmed civilians through killing and shelling, with no regard for existing agreements or understandings with the administration in Damascus.”
